Here are some renders of my new Bishop mod. This is a new project I am gonna work on when coming back from Annecy. Yes I am a Dreamworks fan boy but there is an other reason I chose Shrek for inspiration.

Eduardo Martin Julve
I just came across that great lighting showreel this morning by Eduardo Martin Julve.
He worked on Ilion’s “Planet 51” from which you can see some really really cool shots. I hope Planet 51 has been animated like this throughout.
Inspired by Aardman “Pierce sisters”. Here is “Gary” a short film directed by Clément Soulmagnon, Yann Benedi, Sébastien Eballard & Quentin Chaillet.

Milt Kahl is my favourite Nine Old man. I really respond to his strong poses, eye for detail, sense of observation and draftmanship. People who can draw like him are really really rare.

Seb will also be featured at Annecy in the programme CMHC1 which will be screened Monday at the “Petite salle” 18h00 and at Decavision on Wednesday 18:00 for his Stop motion short film “Christmas time”
Annecy bookings are starting tomorrow for those of us who already registered so here is a rundown.
If I remember correctly, the showreel reviews and job interviews only start with the Mifa mid week and are held in the morning so if we want to see a lot of shorts we’d better pack them monday/tuesday or in the afternoon the rest of the week.

CG society just published an interview of Pixar’s Peter Sohn. Peter Sohn followed Brad Bird when he joined Pixar 9 years ago and went from production artist to animation then story and now director on Pixar’s new short film “Partly cloudy”.
Animation is really hard but with a good rig animation can be a lot of fun. Here are some of the features you should ask your “local rigger”.
