HTC Touch HD disassembling

It is amazing how random the posts can be on this blog! Well it’s mine so I am free to post whatever I want 😉
The HTC Touch HD is also known as Blackstone or T8282. This phone is an amazing piece of hardware and is still one of the best phones on the market.
…
Because it is powered by Windows Mobile you could already do a lot of things that the “Jesus phone” couldn’t do until they released 3.1, the latest firmware for their mobile phone OS (Cut and paste, USB modem…)
Anyway I can’t stand fanboys and don’t want to come across as one. This summer I dropped the phone for the third time and despite the very low drop compared to the previous times, the screen didn’t really like. Luckily the HTC community is very large and responsive so I easily found some help on the Xda-developers forum. There are also plenty of parts available on Ebay so dropping the phone shouldn’t be an issue for anyone.
Disassembling a £300 phone can be really scary but is actually a very easy procedure once you have tried and I have decided to post a video showing how it is done, hoping it would reassure people who want to do the same.
The video is a bit long and you might hear me rambling a bit. I am not showing how to change the LCD panel since I don’t know how to do that yet and after reassembling the phone, it decided to work again. No need to go any further for me then.
Sorry for the quality, it is not possible to adjust the focus on my webcam.

2 great videos have been posted on Vimeo by an other XDAforum user. Check them out:

I can’t figure out how i get the LCD or Touch display off the phone. I can’t find any uploaded videos about how you disassemble the touch display..
